DeLee Grant spends her time between painting (oil and acrylics) and fine art photography. She has always had an affinity for animals, wildlife, trees, flowers, backroads and wide open spaces which stems from her childhood growing up on a Saskatchewan farm. She has a passion to paint "en plein air" (in open air) transferring her impression of the scene in a "painterly" way and capturing the scenes in their natural light. Striving for realism in an artistic way and recording a moment in time never to occur again is her goal for photography. She loves the urgency of capturing the fleeting moments and sharing those moments with others through her artwork.
Her images have been published in Saskatchewan Tourism Publications, Enbridge Pipelines, Plein Air Newsletter, Western Producer, Star Phoenix and have appeared on Global National TV. She has won numerous awards for her photographs and paintings. In 2016, she received an "Award of Merit" at the Escalante Canyons Art Festival (Utah) and 3rd Place in the Arches National Park Quick Draw, PleinAir Moab (Utah) where she completed against artists from all over the U.S. and some as far away as England. As well, her photographs and paintings can be found in many private collections throughout Canada, U.S. and Australia as well as public collections.
